Business Skills for Young People
INKCAZELO: |
The provincial Department of Social Development funds and supports a number of training programmes that teach young people a range of skills such as computer literacy, marketing and entrepreneurship. |
IMIYALELO: |
Each skills-training programme has its own syllabus, training methods and selection criteria. For more information, click on the name of the programme you are interested in below, or speak to someone at your nearest District Office. The Ukuthwalana Training Programme provides training in community development, entrepreneurship and marketing, computer literacy, cultural history and diversity, and life skills. It is aimed at people who were previously marginalised (e.g. people who have been in the correctional services, foster care or drug rehabilitation) but are looking to start a new life. The Ecumenical Foundation of South Africa (EFSA) Institute, in co-operation with the provincial Department of Social Development and the Africa Centre for HIV/Aids Management, offers training in leadership development, with a focus on interpersonal skills, networking skills and how to write a business proposal in order to secure funding. |
