Koeberg Unit 1 Synchonised to National Electricity Grid

Provincial Minister of Environment, Planning and Economic Development, Tasneem Essop, congratulated Eskom for having successfully and speedily returning to service Unit 1 of Koeberg Power Station. On May 17, at 10H30, Unit 1 was synchronised to the national electricity grid and commenced generating electricity to supply the demand in the Western Cape.

Minister Essop, who leads the Energy Risk Management Committee, said the committee, comprised of both Local and Provincal Government, Labour, Business and Civil Society, remained committed to helping with the Recovery Plan and the Demand Side Management programme.
