The Premier, Ebrahim Rasool, will host the launch of the Islamic Civilazation Symposium as a pre-curser to the National Symposium to be held in Johannesburg on 1 - 3 September, 2006. The symposium seeks to address topics such as the spread of Islam in Southern Africa; the relationship between trade and Islam, language and Islamic literature; Islamic education and intellectual development; history, contribution and challenges, coexistence of cultures, Muslim media, etc.
