The Western Cape Provincial Government under Premier Rasool will host a Summit tomorrow Friday 24 June to:
- commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Charter,
- assess its impact and ongoing relevance,
- discuss the current status of the socio-economic and human rights of the people of our Province,
- begin a process to draft a broadly consulted 'Home for All Charter' for the Western Cape
The theme of the Summit will be:
'Realising the vision of the Freedom Charter in the Home for All'.
Discussions will take place in panel formats. Some 200 leaders from a broad cross spectrum of sectors in the Province will attend the Summit.
