This section provides help on how to use the Cape Gateway website. If you need
further help after reading this, email questions@capegateway.gov.za, or call 0860
142 142.
Cape Gateway is available in English, Afrikaans and Xhosa (the three official langauges of the Western Cape). You can change to a different language by clicking on the language of your choice at the top of any page.
The navigation of the site will be in your chosen language, but as all content has not yet been translated into all three languages, you will surf the Xhosa website and come across English or Afrikaans content. When a piece of content is available in another language, this is indicated at the end of the content.
If you wish to view the piece of content in a different available language, click on the link. The website (navigation, etc.) will stay in your original chosen language. (If your aim is to change over to another language version of the website completely, then use the language links at the top left of the page, as described above.) Some content on this website is in Adobe Acrobat PDF file format.
To view these files you will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader. This is available for download from Adobe's website. Once you have dowloaded and installed the reader you will be able to view these files. Some content on this website is in Microsoft Word file format.
