Social Services for Young People (Youth Focal Units)
DESCRIPTION: |
Youth Focal Units are multidisciplinary teams consisting of government employees from a range of fields (e.g. community development, probation and education services) who work closely with non-profit organisations (e.g. YMCA, NICRO and LoveLife) to offer social services specifically targeted to the needs of young people. Young people who need access to social services such as those listed below are encouraged to register with the Youth Focal Unit nearest to them. At the start of 2007 there were Youth Focal Units at 11 of the 16 District Offices of the Department of Social Development. More Youth Focal Units are being established all the time, however, so it is a good idea to call the Social Development District Office nearest to you to find out if they have one. |
