The International Tourism Marketing Assistance Scheme (ITMAS) provides partial compensation to businesses for certain costs incurred for activities aimed at promoting tourism to South Africa. One of the purposes of the scheme is to assist South African companies to market their tourism products in foreign countries by way of brochures, manuals, multimedia presentations, computer-based marketing information or any other international marketing materials. Reimbursement is provided for the design, compilation, production, printing, reprinting and distribution of material to market the products internationally. Assistance will only be provided for materials that were specifically produced to market tourism products in foreign countries. |

For information related to the scheme, including qualification requirements, refer to the Guidelines in Respect of the International Tourism Marketing Assistance Scheme. Interested businesses must apply to the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism to register as participants in the scheme. Applications for registration will be evaluated to ensure that they meet the criteria and will be informed whether they were accepted or not. The application form for registration - Application for Registration to Participate in the International Tourism Marketing Assistance Scheme (ITMAS) - can be downloaded here or obtained on request from the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and from the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism. Completed forms must be returned to the following address: The Senior Administration Officer: ITMAS Once your business is accepted onto the scheme you must complete the Application for Financial Assistance for the Production and Distribution of International Tourism Marketing Materials form to submitting a claim for funding assistance. It is your responsibility to obtain approval before incurring scheme-related expenses. The completed form must be sent to the above address. |
