The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport invite applications for funding for 2008. Western Cape Cultural Organisations are invited to apply for funding in the following 3 categories:

  • Organisations involved with outreach programmes
  • Genre promotion projects
  • Groups involved with organisational development (capacity building)

PROJECT CRITERIA

The project must comply with the following requirements: ·

  • be arts and culture related
  • harness project events to contribute to economic growth, job creation and poverty alleviation
  • have a strong emphasis on youth development
  • be integrated through prioritising the need for gender balance, disability and cultural diversity
  • be specific in terms of training and developing the art form
  • operate within the following fields/genres: Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Crafts and Theatre
  • clearly state its deliverables
  • clearly indicate the target group that will benefit from it (e.g. youth)
  • operate within the boundaries of the Western Cape
  • should indicate how the project will be monitored and evaluated

ORGANISATIONAL CRITERIA

The organisation must comply with the following requirements: ·
  • must be a fully constituted cultural organisation
  • must have a bank account in the name of the organisation
  • should indicate that effective financial systems are in place (registered auditor/accountant/bookkeeper).
