The winners of this year's Western Cape Provincial Tour Guide of the Year Competition were announced on Friday, 22 April 2005 at an event at the Cape Milner Hotel in Tamboerskloof, Cape Town. This competition was designed to seek out that special tourist guide, who, in the course of his/ her tourism activities promotes the ideals of "A Home for All". These include dignity, transformation, equity, quality and fairness in the tourism industry.

The winner of the Provincial Tour Guide of the Year Competition for 2005 was Craig Ziman with Thabelo Moji as the runner up.

CRAIG ZIMAN - Winner

Craig, a qualified regional guide, has been working for Thompsons Touring as a German-speaking guide. He qualified as Western Cape guide in 2003. He has extensive knowledge of the Western Cape province, Namaqualand and Port Elizabeth. He shows a lot of commitment in service excellence. He has good understanding of guest expectations and would go an extra mile to exceed those expectations. Craig is very passionate about tour guiding. He has a lot of potential to make it even further because of his innovation skills.

THABELO MOJI - Runner up

Thabelo is a qualified local culture guide. She is relatively new in the guiding sector as she only qualified in 2003 but shows a great deal of potential. Thabelo is eager to learn and make a contribution to the industry, has good knowledge of routes and shows general professionalism and dedication. Thabelo is an asset to the tourism industry.
